Hamlet® Protean Handheld Video and Audio Signal Generators


Overview

The Hamlet Protean hand-held video and audio signal generators are designed for TV and broadcast engineers working in maintenance, installation, field operations, outside broadcasts, single camera shoots, editing suites, and anywhere digital and analog signals are required.  The Protean is available in the Axiom HD version and the Index SD version.

The Hamlet Protean Index is a multifunctional SD SDI, Analog, video and audio hand-held portable generator. It outputs 16 SD SDI; 16 composite video; group selectable and identable embedded, AES/EBU and analog audio test signals. In addition to industry standard video signals it provides a moving pattern MPEG signal, path continuity check test signal and circle and Text overlays. They are dual standard, 625/PAL and 525/NTSC. The unit produces up to four channels of embedded audio and analog reference tone or silence which enhances the flexibility of the generator. The Protean has full broadcast CCIR601 (SMPTE259M).

The Hamlet Protean Axiom is a small high definition SDI video and audio generator. Using leading-edge technology Hamlet has produced a compact, low-power; hand held, HD SDI video and embedded audio generator, 13 standards, and 16 fully compliant SMPTE 292M SD interface test signals. The Protean also contains a 64 character alphanumeric generator,with moving ident.
